Mr. Mahendra Lal Shrestha accomplished his Masters in science in Electrical Engineering from Moscow Power Engineering Institute, USSR, 1980. He has over 30 years of professional experience in power transmission, Distribution and Hydropower Sector. He has been incharge of different positions such as Chief Executive Officer in Shiva Shree Hydro Power Co Ltd , Managing Director in Nepal Electricity Authority, General Manager in Distribution and Customer Services(west), NEA, Regional Director in Central and Western Regional Officers, Project Manager in Birgunj Corridor 132 KV Transmission Line Project, and more. He attended Electric Utility Engineering Training conducted by USAID/IEE in Tennessee Valley Authority, Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, Sept-Dec, 1986.
